19% of the 130 Certified Staging Professionals surveyed say:
19% of the 130 Certified Staging Professionals surveyed in the fall of 2009 had taken training prior to the CSP course. Although many had often already invested thousands in other staging programs and some had been running successful staging businesses for years…here are the reasons given for investing yet again in further education in the staging industry.
CREDIBILITY...
“I completed the Home Staging Training with (another staging provider) and received certification with honors marks. But, there were many curriculum “holes”, and I also, through self–research, became very aware that CSP was the certification I needed to gain an edge in the market. I also knew that CSP would add remarkably to my credibility. I also knew that I wanted to be affiliated with CSP because of how much I admire and respect the company, Christine Rae, and all associates.”
“I received Staging Certification through (another staging provider). I decided to take the CSP program because of my dissatisfaction with my experience and I felt the CSP designation would give me better hands–on experience and credibility.”
“Because I heard such great things about it!”
CURRICULUM...
“I am a decorator and have been for 15+ years, many of my previous decorating courses have included staging training but I wanted more in depth training and the designation to add to my ongoing business.”
“My original training provider did not provide enough info on the business side of staging. CSP designation gives more credibility.”
“I felt that the (other) training course that I had taken did not provide me with the necessary information about stating up my business including how to market my business.”
“I felt CSP was going to be better and it was”
“To increase my credentials and to become a part of the CSP network and team of trainers.”
“Needed more information, business skills that were lacking in the other program, I just plain didn’t have a clue what to do next. The course was rah rah and inspirational, but no substance/content that I could use to start a business.”
“Better and more education in this field with CSP, I like to deliver top quality work and I like to feel secure and serve my customer efficiently.”
“I took a combination redesign and staging course, the CSP program was more in depth.”
“The other staging provider) did not offer the kind of help and guidance I needed to advance my business.”
IN CLASS VS ONLINE...
“I decided to take the CSP staging program because I didn’t feel supported by the staging company that I took my initial training with. I didn’t get muck if any detail on how to actually start my business or market myself. Since it was an at home course without access to a live trainer, I felt ill prepared and lacked the confidence I needed to get started on my own.”
“Did not get the best training online and the course I was taking did not offer any hands on with instruction”
“The other course was online and I felt the instructor lead course with hands on staging component would give me the confidence I needed. Also, the other course did not give me a designation with good recognition in Canada.”
ADDED VALUE...
“I wanted the feeling and camaraderie that goes with being part of a large group! I also wanted to benefit from all of the perks such as discounts etc.”
